Vicki Merrick

Vicki Merrick has been a continuing student in the Art of Middle Eastern dance for over 10 years. She was introduced to belly dance when she and a girlfriend took a beginner class because they heard it was “fun”. After that it became a passion. She owes her foundations in the dance to many instructors. Vicki started lessons with Sophia, and continued with Tambil and Shevah. Later she travelled to Orlando to take instruction with Melanie La Joie of A*Magi Dance Troupe.  Her strongest influence was instructor Lisa Myers who introduced her to American Tribal Style belly dance. She is eternally grateful to Lisa Myers for having faith in her abilities and giving her opportunities not only to learn and perform but also to teach.

Vicki is the director and a member of the dance troupe Adelpha which has performed at many different venues including the Henegar Theater in Melbourne, Festival of the Nile in Orlando and Spirit of the Tribes in Fort Lauderdale .

Vicki Merrick was one of the founders of the American Belly Dance Club which is an organization open to all persons interested in traditional and contemporary styles of belly dance.  The club promotes fellowship among dancers in Brevard and neighboring counties by organizing classes, workshops, and lectures to introduce dancers to all different style of belly dance.  The club also sponsors two shows a year to provide performance opportunities for members.
